My story takes place in Brooklyn NY, almost 30 years ago, in Methodist Hospital. My grandfather was being hospitalized for many serious health problems. My Uncle Johnny passed away in a hospital not far from the hospital my grandfather was in.
My grandfather had no idea how sick his brother in law Johnny actually was. My grandmother would go visit my grandfather and then leave and visit my Uncle Johnny, her brother.
After about one week of my uncle being critically ill, he passed away peacefully in the hospital surrounded by family. My grandmother would then go to visit my grandfather and change her clothes for the funeral parlor, she did not want my grandfather knowing my uncle passed away since he was so very ill and in such fragile condition himself.
It was now the second day after my uncle's passing and my grandmother got to the hospital to visit my grandfather, she was planning on going to the funeral parlor after her visit with my grandfather.
As my grandparents sat there talking, my grandfather told my grandmother that my uncle Johnny was just there to visit him.
Needless to say, my grandmother was in total disbelief and completely taken by surprise. She asked my grandfather what Uncle Johnny had to say. My grandfather said he just told him he came to say goodbye.
There was a patient in the next bed from my grandfather.s. My grandmother asked this other man if my grandfather had any visitors.. The man told her that his brother in law was here to see him and his name was Johnny. You could now imagine my grandmother.s reaction, complete and utter amazement.
My grandfather also told her that my uncle spoke to the nurses to advise them my grandfather had pain and needed some medicine..When my grandmother heard him say this, she immediately went to the nurses station..
She asked one of the nurses if my grandfather had any visitors, the nurses told her about my uncle being there and how he came to the nurses station to ask that my grandfather get some medication for pain. My grandmother asked the nurses to describe my uncle. They told her he was a small man, thin build with a mustache. He had a hat on and referred to my grandfather as his brother in law.
Total shock at this point, my grandmother was speechless. They described my uncle exactly as he looked and spoke.
Did my uncle Johnny come to say goodbye to my grandfather??? This is one of those strange happenings that cannot be explained, but is very real. My uncle was very real to both my grandfather and his nurses, he was also real to the man in the next bed.
This was just one of many paranormal events that frightened me as a child, and I have been curious ever since that day. I always knew when I got older I would search for answers to the things that frightened me to death.
My search has begun and will continue until I find the truth!
